Harrison would be perfect as second-best wideout for Bills

Buffalo Bills
The Indianapolis Colts’ playoff loss to the San Diego Chargers could be a win for the Buffalo Bills. Specifically, former all-universe wideout Marvin Harrison is now one week closer to possibly becoming an ex-Colt, which means he should be closer to becoming a future Bill. Even considering his model year and mileage, Harrison would be a better ...

Intriguing idea Bialy......in theory, he could be the "James Lofton" lift that helped the K-Gun back in the 90's.......or, he could be another wasted million dollar receiver that Edwards checks down from...

No way in hell Harrison comes to WNY at his age to play for a sub-par, non-playoff team, in our climate, with this QB....

AB, completely agree, conceptually. Bringing in an experienced wideout to play while the rookies learn for a year or two is exactly what should have been done THIS season.. and of course they passed on several candidates...Ike Bruce comes to mind.

Its also good to see that most posters here are starting to "get it" that in the rockstar NFL of today, Buffalo is on the bottom of the list for any decent free agents or coaches who have multiple opportunities (and they will have them). Until the Bills pack the moving trucks and go to a locale where top, established coaches/players actually want to be, the Bills need to win mainly with drafted players who are "trapped" in Buffalo for the 4-5yr term of their rookie contract . Hate to say it, but when it comes to signing a contract to play in buff, players are "one and done"... the history shows it to be true...

( in the case of Peters, who foolishly signed a new contract - that fool would be making 7mil per in tampa or miami or san diego right now if he hadn't listened to his agent 2 yrs ago...)

I've always admired Marvin Harrison. He's been one of the best receivers in the NFL for his entire career and unlike many other receivers never acted the prima donna to draw attention to himself. But the idea of the Bills signing him is just wrong, wrong, wrong! Marvin Harrison entered the NFL in the same draft as Eric Moulds. At this point in his career he's a mere shell of the great player he used to be. His numbers are respectable because he plays with a Hall of Fame quarterback in a pass happy offense he knows like the back of his hand, with 3 other top shelf receivers. He's no longer the guy on the Colt's offense that NFL defenses look to slow down. In Buffalo he'd be lucky to post Josh Reed type numbers. Bringing in star players who are closer to retirement than their peak years makes no sense. As Mikey said, why would a future Hall of Fame receiver want to come and finish his storied career in the snow and cold and losing of WNY anyway?
