Bills’ DiGiorgio could deliver as starter

Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills re-signed a valuable linebacker who didn’t play linebacker last season. Coming off a knee injury suffered while competing on special teams that ended his year in the seventh game, John DiGiorgio is nonetheless one of this team’s important components, as he is at worst a fine defensive reserve and at best a potential starter. He...

digi is a competent back-up, and a great special teamer, but he definately isn't the quality of player I want starting full-time at LB for us. I'm waiting to see what happens w/ crowell, i really feel that we MUST resign him. If not then we take care of the position through FA, but the bottom line is that we can not afford to go into this years draft needing upgrades at DE, C, TE, and OLB (at least one of these positions have to be addressed through FA). I like digi and respect the road he has taken to get where he's at, but i just think that we can do a better at the position.

Goose, to follow up on your post yesterday, I remember eating at the Shetland House. I had to be about 6 or 7 years old. It was like a truck stop with great food. I was a kid at the time but I remember my old man taking me for the traditional night fish fry to either a place called the Syracuse, or Warzburger Hoff that had a kick ass batter with beer. I also remember going to Ballisteri bakery on Niagara street to get bread. That was an old time bakery with flour all over the floor when you walked in. I can still smell that awesome fresh baked bread.

I agree with Alan that DiGi is a good reserve guy. It will be interesting to see if the Bills resign Crowell. When he was put on IR at the end of preseason the situation was ugly. Hopefully Russ Brandon smoothed things over as I think he did (and is good at by the way), and the Bills have a good chance to resign him if they want to. That would certainly fill a huge need on the team and allow us to look at other positions of need like C, WR, and TE in that order assuming Schoebel comes back.
