Red, white, navy, royal blue and nickel would look good on Green

Buffalo Bills
Quarterback Trent Green’s biggest opponent over his NFL career has been Fate. He’s been prevented from fulfilling potential on uncountable occasions, and he’s unsurprisingly and sadly looking for work again. Just released by the St. Louis Rams, he’ll find a new gig, although it won’t be glamorous work where he’ll actually play. On that note,...

What are you smoking A.B.? Been hangin out with Marshawn and his buds lately? Trent Green is what, 39 years old? His stats when he did play for the Rams last season were horrendous. He was an interception/turnover machine. As you have written he's had multiple concussions and the next one could be his last. It would be great if the Bills could sign an older experienced veteran who was comfortable in a back up role, could be a sounding board for Trent Edwards and maybe even possibly help win a game or two if Edwards can't play. But from what I can tell Trent Green doesn't fit any of those requirements. I will have to say just when I thought nobody could do a worse job of running the Bills than the guys that are doing it, along comes Anthony to prove me wrong.

I'm probably too dumb to understand the brilliant strategy of the Bills front office, but why did they cut Dockery and Royal right now? I know that they were on the tab to Dockery for a $1 million bonus, but they don't really free diddly cap space, and now they've created two extra holes in their Swiss-cheesy lineup. Couldn't they have tried to use those two as trade fodder? We all knew those two weren't great, but for that matter, why don't they cut the whole team, and hold open try outs at some public park?

Now the press is talking like they saw this coming all the while.

I think the whole front office has been drinking Ralph's embalming fluid.

Trent Green is going to retire.

My view on the whole Dockery thing is that the Bills should have had replacement in place before releasing him. Dockery was very average and ridicuously overpaid, but certainly didn't hurt the team. Now we have another hole to fill. Feels like a sinking ship here but I suspect Brandon is going to make some moves.

I remember when the Bills signed Dockery , fans proclaimed Levy a genius and pumped their fists. The OL was rebuilt. I am no scout but I watch alot of football and quite frankly never heard of the guy. I live in south florida and the radio play by play guy for the redskins was talking to a sportstalk guy here. His direct quote about Dockery : "He's just a guy. Occasionally he'll stumble on his own two feet. The money being paid to some of these free agents is ridiculous." This certainly raised my eyebrow. The bottum line here is just because a guy is paid a ton of money doesn't mean he's good. And in Dockery's case average. Levy was a fool for shelling out that kind of money for a player of his mediocre caliber. The rest is history.
