Simpson did turn out badly, however from purely football perspective, IMO Simpson was simply an unconscious player. Best combo of size speed instincts and agility ever. Very hard to leave him off the list unless non-football issues are part of the equation. In that case he is left off every list.

If Jason Peters had made the list, my guess is that he’d probably threaten to hold out until his new Eagles contract could be re-negotiated to better account for this latest accolade.

I didn't really care about football until the Jim Ferguson-Joe Cribbs era so I never really paid attention to players prior to that era. Thurman Thomas is my all-time favorite player. Tough as nails, rarely was hurt, played with a chip on his shoulder, and always made the big play. I'm still disgusted by the fact he played for the Dolphins and taunted us after making that first down but all is forgiven. I just feel bad the guy never got a superbowl ring because he deserved it.
