Bills’ Maybin can battle passes in more than one way

Buffalo Bills
Aaron Maybin owns a first step that’s faster than a tweaking grizzly bear’s. But is it speedy enough to keep up with opponents who are running routes? Teaching the Buffalo Bills rookie defensive end to drop into pass coverage should be a priority for the staff over mandatory practices. Zone blitzes could be one way to make use of his talents, ...

That the staff wants to use Maybin everywhere speaks volumes.

I did notice we tip alot of passes, that wasn't a positive.
When you are at the LOS and stood up by the OL for 4 seconds, you're last chance to make a play is to bat a pass.

Yeah it's great on 3rd down, but when you get no push and you're just trying to time a jump - that's a sad pass rush. We bat passes, real teams force fumbles at the QB.

We're gonna have some nicely camoflauged schemes. The QB will have to make some decisions on who's coming. Is Maybin coming or is Harris? Maybin and Scottt come and Harris drops back in coverage.

That Maybin Harris side is going to bring heat.

Sports: Dick LeBeau is no longer coaching the defense. Good thought, but your "nicely camoflauged schemes" comment is 4 years too late. In the crappy tampa 2, the D ends do nothing but fire straight ahead, period. Unless Perry Fewell has suddenly gotten religion and DJ has suddenly become a risk taker, I expect more of the same this year. Sorry to be negative (again), but I was in the stands in 03/04 when LeBeau was the DC and the defense was as exciting as the offense.. It was great. But we don't run that anymore... so lets forget the costume party, put away the disguises and hope (there's that word again) the offense is terrific, which will make the crappy cover 2 defense more effective...

I can't believe you have outdone yourself. This is the single most assanine article I have ever read, by anyone ...ever. Draft a pass rushing specialist to drop back into coverage. Incredible. I often wonder whether pointing out how dumb people are is of any balue to anyone but me.

This is the single most stupid article I have ever read.

Our pass rush sucks, so lets draft the best rushing lineman in college and have him play cornerback. Never can be too certain! Talk about overthinking. Jeeze.
