Buffalo Bills
Take yourself back to a time that was enjoyable, upbeat, joyous and free. I’m of course referring to the first 7 weeks of last year’s NFL season. The BILLS had just pushed their record to 5 and 1. Hope and optimism were in abundance as the boys from Buffalo were suddenly relevant with the talking heads on the sports channels. The BILLS were...

I think this article hits the nail on the head. The downfall of the Bills season was in weeks 8 and 9 when they lost at Miami and at home vs the Jets. The Bills were in control of the Miami game until a bunch of freak 4th quarter turnovers (tipped ball INT, Trent fumbling into the pile while sneaking). The Jets game was also very winnable until our genius coaching staff decided to drop into a 4th quarter soft-zone prevent defense which allowed the Jets to waltz through a 9 minute, 14-play field goal drive that effectively ended the game.

Obviously blowing those 2 very winnable games would have helped in the W-L column, but it would also not have demoralized the entire team and sapped the confidence out of the players and the coaches. If the Bills could have pulled at least one of these games out they might of had the confidence/balls to beat some quality teams instead of melt-down city.

bILZ, not sure of your point at the beginning about the schitty teams the Bills faced. There's not really a debate there...they were all teams that ended up drafting in the top 10. Beating those teams certainly shouldn’t be held against you, but it’s nothing to marvel at either. Had those wins occurred spread out through the season to get to 7-9 EVERYONE would say BFD. Just so happens they were all in a row... If you want to give them some credit for beating the Chargers, fine...but they were probably the most inconsistent team last year; capable of beating the best and losing to the worst.

Anyhow, good job…I only noticed one typo on Wood. He got no ‘s’. And nice jab at ddd.

It just go to show us that stats are for losers--ha ha!! The defense is going to have to carry the Bills thru the first half of the season which I fully expect it to do. It's all up to how much time it takes for the O-line to come together. As the O-line goes so Goes the Bills....

I finally finished watching the TO show, I was catching bits and pieces. TO was great in his pursuit of beautiful women----he is welcome to this site anytime!!!
