For Bills, No Huddle is No Help

Buffalo Bills
Dick Jauron’s recent comments about the Bills use of the no huddle are akin to taking a highlighter to the win-loss record on his Wikipedia page - just pointing out the incompetence. When Jauron makes statements like this the ignorance is simply mind numbing. While he states the ‘no huddle’ does not always equate to the ‘hurry up’, the Bills...

Thanks for the article Grant W. While I appreciate your point of view, I would have to disagree with your assessment. Huddling has little to do with the stench coming from One Bills Drive.

This offense is its present form could be given 4 minutes to huddle up and review assignments for a given play and STILL be unable to execute the basic fundamentals of the game. They seem lost. There is precious little time left for them to get their act together. Our only hope is that game planning for their opener will show us how different they can be when taking an organized approach to an opponent.

Jauron could care less about winning in the pre-season and it shows. He has provided his upcoming opponents with little to no game tape regarding things that the offense does well, because there simply hasn't been anything. This leaves it wide open for the Monday Night showdown.

Until the Bills look this bad in a real game I'll maintain my hopes for competitive football this year. There's still time to right the ship. I just wonder if the folks at the helm know how. We shall soon see... in 13 more days.

Excellent contribution Grant----I think we worked for the same boss!!

I finally watched the offensive snoooooozefest last night. I have to say I thought it was going to be much worst. The offense looked like it was playing in their 1st practice game of the summer while the Steelers looked like they were ready for the opener.

I thought the defense played a decent game, they looked aggressive and made some nice plays, Buggs made a couple of nice hits, Leodis provided tight coverage even though the receivers made the catch and Maybin looked good for his debut. What was worrisome was when the Bills did blitz the Steelers picked the blitz up easily an Big Ben was able to hit wide open receivers.

The special teams must of had at least 5 penalties, it seemed every time the Bills received there was a blocking in the back call, a blocked FG, the coverage units weren't up to there usual standards but Moorman looked like a pro-bowler.

Offense--horrible Defense---decent Special teams--Need work

Even though the no-huddle does wear out the defense, I thought the real purpose of it was to create mis-match situations because the defense is not able to bring in their special players for certain situations (ie 3rd down and 8). The Steelers game is going to be on NFL Network on Wednesday, so I may try to catch it then to see how bad it was.
