Fewell impressed, defenders didn’t for Buffalo

Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills made headlines last offseason by revamping their once-great defense. The team released select veterans and turned the 'D' into a younger, less expensive group. The unit maxed out its own potential earlier this decade, so the Bills made big names like safety Lawyer Milloy and defensive tackle Sam Adams cap casualties a year ago....

Interesting read but you had Fletcher-Baker and young in the same sentence he had a good year but most tackles come 5 yards dowm field. As for Nate Buffalo loves him but in the Tampa 2 style defense he is not as hard to replace as you think we will see in FA but your right DT is still a concern but Mcargo should be healthy and that will help

I agree with most of what the article said about the state of the Bills' defense last season. There are clues coming out of One Bills Drive that the Bills may not be all that interested in re-signing Fletcher-Baker. While he racks up a ton of tackles every year, he may be something of a liability in run defense in the Tampa 2. The Bills may want to get younger and bigger at the position, which is why he was never offered a contract extension. Clements will clearly be a loss. Ashton Youboty is the unknown in the equation. Noone expects him to replace Clements and play at the same high level, at least right away. It may be a mistake, however, to assume he can't possibly replace a departing Clements, particularly if Buffalo can get better play out of their front seven on defense. I expect the upcoming draft for the Bills to focus on defense, especially on day one as the Bills attempt to give Fewell more talent to work with. There is reason to hope that the on field product could improve this coming fall.

for the Tampa 2 to work, you need a force at MLB - a quarterback on defense (see Urlacher) and LFB was that force at one time however, these days - his tackles come five yards down the field. In order to be successful on defense the Bills will need to find an up-and-coming stud through free agency or wait three to five years and groom a MLB through the draft. The later is a much harder sell in Buffalo - we wanted a SuperBowl a decade ago.
