Fan Pulse: Broncos fans nostalgic for their former players

Denver Broncos
Normally, fans wouldn't pay much attention to a receiver who left and had considerably less success with his new team. Ashley Lelie has 38 catches in the last two years, 28 with Atlanta in 2006 and 10 with San Francisco in 2007. He finished with 42 catches with the Broncos in 2004. Yet a thread on Broncos Country is gaining some attention ...

Al Wilson was a good player. Ahsley Lelie not so much. But the poster is right in that he did stretch defenses when he was with Denver. Problem is, when you line a guy up at WR, you want him to catch the ball, at least occasionally. Otherwise, why should defenses respect him?

Very true nhartman, after a while even though you are a deep threat, you keep droping the ball and can't get open on man to man coverage you aren't going to strech anything. Maybe Lelie will be able to have a decent season with the Niners in Martz's pass happy offense. If he doesn't is Lelie considered a bust affter being drafted 19th in the 2002 draft?

I would say he is on the hot seat and maybe will dodge the bust tag if he has a decent season.

It's too bad he's gone from denver we would love to roast him deep.
