It's hard to know what to feel about the latest development in the Arizona Cardinals' quarterback soap opera. On one hand (let's call it the left), you have to feel bad for Matt Leinart, whose promising second season has been ended prematurely thanks to a broken collarbone. On the other hand (call it the right), you have to feel good for Kurt ...

I think one thing missing from this article is how poorly Leinart had played this season before his injury. With a passer rating around 60, appx 50% completion percentage, a measly 5.8 YPA, and two INT's per each TD, his 2nd year numbers bear an uncanny resemblance to Ryan Leaf's 2nd year numbers. Even were Leinart not injured, he would have probably been benched permanantly, as Warner has been playing lights out football. Right now, his passer rating is ranked 3rd in the NFC. As bad as this sounds, Leinart's misfortune is the Arizona Cardinals gain.
