Clemson Tigers
Most college football experts will tell you that claiming victory in the recruiting battle in your state is important if you want to field a team capable of winning conference championships. Do all teams subscribe to that philosophy? No. Nevertheless, enough do that it would seem worth mentioning that out of the seven verbal commitments the...

Lattimore is going out of state.

Most top recruits will take a wait-and-see attitude with Clemson... and in the meantime those recruits are likely to commit elsewhere. If Dabo leads the Tigers to double-digit wins this season, he'll land some solid recruits. If the Tigers win 8 or less, very few of the good prospects will commit because of the uncertainty of whether Dabo will be around in a year or two. If Clemson starts to flounder early in the season, I'll expect to see several "commits" switch to other schools (like the last two years). That's one of the dangers of hiring a nobody like Swinney. If Clemson had hired a big-name coach, recruits could rest assured that the coach would be there for at least a few years as long as he had an 8+ win seasons.

Clemson is definitely focusing it's early recruiting within the state. Of the 7 current commitments, 6 are in state. Brandon Willis is definitely going out of state. Neither Clemson nor South Carolina is in his final list. As far as Marcus Lattimore, if he stays in state, look for him to unfortunately go to South Carolina (I say unfortunately because I am a Clemson fan), but Clemson is still recruiting him pretty hard. From what I've read, Lattimore may well go out of state as well. Look for Corey Miller, of the trio from Byrnes (Byrnes have 8 players who have been offered D-1 scholarships), to most likely stay in state.
