| Oh, I remember Jeff Davis alright. Him, William Perry, William Devane, Danny Triplett, Andy Headen, Terry Kinard, Jeff Bryant, just about that whole team. But Davis was definitely the leader of that enormously strong and mean defense and deserves the majority of the credit for its success. If my math is correct, that national championship defense he led held Clemson's opponents to an average of 8.75 points per game, which included a shut-out of Virginia. The opponent that scored the most points on Clemson that year was Wake Forest with 24, but Clemson demolished them 82-24. I don't think Clemson's defense would've been nowhere near that successful without him. That was indeed a magical year for Clemson and it will forever be remembered fondly. So yes, Davis deserves to be in the CF HOF by far. Congrats, Jeff! (Author's comment: Thanks - that was a great defensive unit.) | ||

| Bob, where's my comment? The front page shows 1 comment (which I'm guessing is mine), but it's not showing up. (Editor's note: The article is now showing 2 comments and they're both showing up. Have a great week, Marc -- Alex Guzman) | ||
