LSU decided they liked being the top dog and managed to hang in there for another week. Oregon lost Heisman candidate Dennis Dixon for the season, as well as their game with Arizona and a shot at the national title. Oklahoma was anointed by several media for the championship bout with LSU, but they promptly got whacked by Texas Tech in Lubbock...

i totally agree that Illinois is underrated. it is not easy to go to Columbus and knock off Ohio State on their home field. I also agree that Oregon is going to go downhill really fast in the next two games.

As a Gator, I have to make the observation that the Gators would be favored in a bowl game against almost every team above them in the poll.
