I can provide links to you if you want, but technically it is. It has been disputed in court of late, but the core of the NCAA's defense being "it's not the money you make that designates being a non-for profit but how you use the money you make." That at least was the layman's statement the NCAA's lawyer used. I wouldn't make it up. Because of that, they're slyly able to not report their profits on a yearly basis, which made this article harder to write. It took some finding, but the NCAA is just raking in the dough. Ticket prices haven't exactly dropped. So you assume the raking in will only continue.
