How stupid can you be, Jimmy Clausen? The most visible Notre Dame football player on and off the field gets clocked by some idiot in South Bend last weekend following the Irish double overtime loss to Connecticut … you really have to question Clausen’s maturity and character. What in the heck is he doing at a bar early on Sunday morning when he...

Colt McCoy going off for almost 500 yards all by himself has got to have him in the driver's seat for the Heisman. Remember what a big game against Fresno State did for the owner of the most tainted Heisman in history.

Toby Gerhart rushed for 205 yards and 3 TDs against Notre Dame tonight. He also threw a TD pass and caught one for 33 yards. It was the most yards the Irish had given up to a single running back all season, and they've faced some pretty good ones, including Dion Lewis of Pitt, Vai Taua of Nevada, Montel Harris of Boston College and USC's Joe McKnight. ND was averaging giving up 170 yards per game. I still see Gerhart being more dominating as a running back than McCoy is as a QB. Texas might not be undefeated without Colt but they'd still be playing for the Big 12 title. Stanford wouldn't even be bowl eligible without Gerhart.

Gerhart has had an outstanding season and you are correct that Stanford wouldn't be bowl eligible without him. I doubt that UT would be playing for the Big 12 Championship without McCoy. I do believe that they would be bowl elgbible. It appears as if the Heisman will come down to Tebow or McCoy among the QBs or Gerhart, Ingram, or Spiller among the RBs. Ingram didn't do himself any favors against Auburn and Clemson's loss hurts Spiller's Heisman chances although he'll still be the first RB drafted barring injury.
