Miami Dolphins
“In Chad we trust!” has become the new slogan in Miami. Ever since the Dolphins signed Chad Pennington to a two-year, $11.5 million contract last week, there hasn't been any doubt about who will start at quarterback in 2008. Josh McCown and John Beck are now playing for a roster spot, while rookie Chad Henne is being groomed for the future....

Pennington hasn't always had a weak arm, but it has been severely hindered due to his frequent shoulder injuries. Having had shoulder injuries myself, I know how difficult they are to heal and the NFL is a now or never league, so the time needed to heal properly is not often afforded. As a Jet, Pennington killed the Dolphins with quick throws in the flats and over the middle slants. Perhaps he can bring some of this experience to the offense.
The D-fense has to get better at stopping the run. Crowder looked lost and the linebackers were constantly looking at each other prior to the snap. There might still be some confusion on assignments and that leads to big holes in the running defense. Hopefully they are just shaking out the pre-season blues and will get better with game-play.

The dolphins have def made some improvements this yr and i like adding pennington. They should pick up terry glenn as another WR and ricky wiliiams is supposedly back and in good shape they are just in a really bad division when u got NE there.

I think having Pennington as the starting QB is the best option the Dolphins have. The two young QB's will get their chance and Chad is just a better QB than McCown. Also as the article says, this team is going to rely heavily on the run, so it's not as if Pennington is going to have to throw the ball 40 times a game. I really like this pickup and I really think it'll help the Dolphins throughout this season.
