Miami Dolphins
At this time last year, the Miami Dolphins were about to start a journey in futility that culminated in a 1-15 season, the worst in franchise history. In 2007, the Dolphins were the team everyone loved to mock; they were the club that other NFL squads couldn't wait to face on a weekly basis. But as Miami heads into its opening game against the...

I think the biggest reason of all is Bill Parcells' involvement with the team. All three items mentioned above are directly attributable to him. While we can't assume that just because he's been successful to some degree in all of his previous stops that he will bring success here, but we can certainly be optimistic! Parcells has already shown that he is not afraid to ruffle a few feathers in order to improve this team. Let's hope that it is worth it!

I agree with jgranger 100%. Bill Parcells knows that this team can't do anything but improve and obviously last year's roster was pathetic and that's why he isn't scared to shake things up. What's the worst thing that happens? They win 4 games? Still an improvement from last season.

I'd like to revisit the title of this article: "Improved Dolphins have reasons for optimism". I'm sorry, but four wins is not a reason for optimism. Redskin fan, I've taken a little sabatical from the sight and apparently you've lost your mind since. Seriously, is four wins an optimistic preposition? I'll be honest and put my hatred for the Dolphins aside. After next year's draft, the Dolphins WILL have reason for optimism, that's just how Parcell operates. I just don't see enough talent currently to be optimistic.
