The Wildcat formation didnt work to well against that impressive ravens defense.

Just because the play didn't do well against the league's best defense doesn't mean that it doesn't work at all. That's a bit of a stretch.

I do believe the wildcat has run it's course. If you analyze the formation it's drawback is it's strength. In other words, by allowing the blocking up front to form, adaptations in the backfield allow the ball carrier to pick the seams or the passer (qb or back) to deliver the ball from miss-direction. The counter to this is to destroy the blocking by blitzes and overloading the line. The Ravens did this effectively and so will everyone else. It's time to get back to basics....
