Miami Dolphins
Just three days removed from a season-ending debacle at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, this writer thinks he’s figured out the No. 1 area of need for the Miami’s resurgent but far from elite defensive unit. Simply put, the Dolphins need a game-changing defensive back. Granted, as a unit, Miami’s starting defensive backs came up with their ...

You nailed it, Hugo. The dolphins need game changers on defense and on the offense. An elite D-back like Reed would scare the hell out of any offense. I would also like to see the Phish acquire a home run receiver. I just haven't seen anything from Ginn that makes me believe he is anything but average. I have heard the Ted Ginn apologists on this board before, but catching the ball and making plays is what they are paying him for and he hasn't lived up to his hype. Steve Smith, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne and Hines Ward make differences in big games....that is the type of receiver Miami needs.

I don't think that is the problem, yes any team can use a high grade safety...but how about a QB that can make all the throws, Chad Henne is the way to get over the hump.

Did anyone notice the 1st Ed Reed pick, he's the only qb in the league who's deep ball looks like a punt.

The throw barely covered 40 yards, that's sad.

Vs. most teams in the league Pennington is fine, but vs. a team that can take away your running game, he's terrible, he's out of his comfort zone. The short passing game gets pinched and what you saw Sunday ensues.

Jimmy D, its not Ginn's fault. Nobody on the field can run with Teddy, but he can be covered up to 30 yards downfield, but lay it out for him and you'll see the next coming of Man O War.

Ginn aint it. He can catch the ball, but no situational awareness leaves him making odd routes and he isn't getting good separation. He has had two years to figure it out. also, as far as speed....he's not as quick as one would think. He gets pummeled on kicks and punts.
