| Agreed Hugo, finally somebody isn't screaming for us to draft a CB. I think we should go after Clay Mathews, Larry English, and/or Hakeem Nicks in that order. Clay Mathews is the steal of the draft, that guy is way faster than Cushing, and in my honest opionion, I think he will be strong for years to come. We still need to build on stopping the run, if Ferguson goes down we are lost. I really hope we trade up to get Mathews and Detroit might pull the switch, because I think NE would get him. But if so, I would settle for English or H. Nicks. Let's play our cards and get a CB in the 2nd and 5th. It's a deep position. I would be surprised if they draft a CB in the first, although Alphonzo Smith could be on their radar if he hasn't been selected in the top of the second. But we share the common point which is common sense: The better the pass rush, the better the whole secondary and CBs are. Plus we really didn't do so well against the run like we should have last year on defense. Get a NT too, if we can't stop the run, how are we going to stop the pass? We do need some depth, in fact I was wondering why Michael Lehan wasn't re-signed, he was playing pretty good until the knee injury kept being reaggrevated. If we do get a veteran, I hope he has the good one on one skills. My last point is that Jason Allen was good last year, better than people gave him credit for, except against Randy Moss, who pretty much can beat any corner one on one. I hope Gabril Wilson helps, it seemed against NE, every pass play Moss would out jump the entire secondary, so the only way to defend him is to get a CB who has way high vertical leap and ball skills and in my opionion the only one that good is Alphonzo Smith, but he is probably going to be gone by #25. | ||

| Yes, I agree we need D-line upgrade and depth...should also get some playmaking receivers too. One thing you didn't mention, Hugo, was following each superbowl appearance by those Parcell's led teams they got torched by the pass in the following year. something to be said for having experienced corners...I played 3 years at NCST as a DB and i know well how an experienced coverage guy can keep you in the game. One mistake and it's six points for the other guys... | ||
