Miami Dolphins
As exciting as a second straight road win is for the Miami Dolphins, what really bodes well for this team is shockingly strong play of the Mike Nolan led defensive unit. Why? Tough loss to the jets, but the jets earned it. They made the big plays and the dolphins didn't. The score was indicative of how similar in talent these two teams are. The wildcat was meaningless and until a new wrinkle comes out of that formation, the phish need to move on and get more creative with play calling.

I recorded the Jets game and went back to watch how the defense played. Some surprising issues on coverages and a glaring inability to pressure the QB put the defense on their heals the whole game. They did a rather effective job at stopping the run until the 3rd quarter when they needed more nickel packages to keep from being blown out on deep routes. The Jets were effective with 3 step drops and check-downs that yielded big plays. The Miami defense was absolutely HORRIBLE at disguising their coverage and blitzes. Bad job all around and the Jets took full advantage of week defensive scheming. All that said, the Phish still had a chance..it was big plays in passing game and special teams that sealed their fate.
