Miami Dolphins
In the past year, unheralded Miami Dolphins running back Jesse Chatman was an ex-NFLer whose weight more closely resembled a defensive end's. Considering that statement, why in the world is Chatman currently competing with Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown, a former No. 2 overall pick, for the starting job? One answer is that Chatman reportedly dropped...

Yes this 2 back set gives some punch and is close to being the answer to this season with Booker as a 3rd option. Chatman and Brown will probably go down this year at some point which is "why" we really need to keep Cobbs as a reserve back to continue the 2 back set when that happens!

A 2-RB system is the way to go these days in the NFL. Chatman will be good for Brown; keep him fresh and put a few licks on the defense. We shouldn't be so harsh on Brown for "underachieving". He has put up some decent stats on a nothing offense for two years. His running in the second half almost single handedly led to the victory over Chicago last year. Brown will be just fine -- lets worry about that secondary and protecting the QB.

Brown has been an underachiever, but it's fair to consider the line play and coaching during his time in Miami as well. Also, don't write off a young player so early in the learning curve

After all, Brown has 1915 carries, with a 4.3 average, and 9 TDs in his first two years in the NFL

Ricky Williams had 1884 yards, with a 3.8 average, and 10 TDs.

We're talking about a team that had, I believe, Willie Roaf and Kyle Turley on the line.

In Ricky's next three years he ran for almost 4,500 yards, and picked up a rushing title.

Other than a superior yards per carry after his first two years, Ronnie has one other advantage over Ricky: no drug problem!

I definitely favor a two-back system, and think it's in everyone's best interest that Chatman keep Ronnie's carries in the plus/minus 20 range. With our young line, lowering the focus on Ronnie by opponents has no downside.

In the meantime, cut the kid some slack!
