Reasons why the Dolphins named Mauia starting FB

Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins' decision to cut wide receiver Az Hakim is one thing, but giving fullback Cory Schlesinger his walking papers is quite another. Never mind the fact that Schlesinger is a 13-year veteran who was a Pro Bowl alternate between 2003-05. Never mind the thought that Schlesinger could have served as a mentor for rookie bruiser Reagan...

To me, it's more of a disappointment not a surprise. Because they needed, not just wanted, a great FB to block for Ronnie. When no one was talking much about Schlesinger once he started playing, I knew something wasn't panning out. I'm very disappointed. But it does give Reagan an opportunity. It would have been nice to have him learn some more tricks of the trade from Cory, though, before he left.

I think Schlesinger would have been a great fullback for us, but if cam thinks the rook can get it done who are we to argue.
