| Darrell, the defense is ranked dead last in points allowed. How is it that they're "not that bad"? | ||

| I agree...dead last means pretty bad to me. I played strong safety at NC State for four years and started in 12 games. WE were not bad...this squad has some issues and not all with old players. Porter has been a disappointment, but he is not utilized to his strengths and that is in rushing the QB. When I see him drop back into coverage I just cringe. You HAVE to play the young guys now that the season is done. You need to see if there is any potential. Mistakes get made because as a rookie too many things go through your head when you take the field. After a while you just play and experience creates positive instincts. Beck needs to play, Soliai needs to play, Booker needs to play. As far as the Heath Shuler comment, it all starts with character and coaching. There are plenty of rookie QB's that have done well after a rookie start....Big Ben, Donovan McNabb, Peyton Manning among others. Is Beck another Big Ben or more like Akili Smith? You won't know until you PLAY him | ||
