After reflection, Eagles’ draft still doesn’t make sense

Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles fans should at least know there are two people who hated the team's draft more than them: Kelly Holcomb and A.J. Feeley, who now have to face competition at clipboard holder and backup clipboard holder. Unfortunately, as far as players who will actually, you know, get on the field, Philadelphia didn't nab many last weekend, and those...

You say Kolb ran a "gimmicky, one-sided college offense"

I looked up the total rushing and passing plays the Cougars ran this year...here is what I found on NCAASports.com.

Rushing plays: 465 (53%)
Passing plays: 417 (47%)

Can you please explain to me how that can be considered a "one-sided offense"?

I am equally mystefied by the Eagles draft. Brian Dawkins 34? Forget about it. Sean Considine not being able to play the run. Psshaw. Only 4 corners? Doesn't matter. Why? because of Kevin Kolb, who will make NO immediate impact. Why couldn't we do like the Saints and take the best available playmaker? Money, the Eagles are saving money. Why? IDK, but we'll find out.

The most head scratching thing isn't that the Eagles drafted a QB with their first pick in the draft. It's that they just signed backup A.J. Feeley to a multi-year contract (both he and McNabb are signed through 2010). And then a month prior to the draft they acquired Holcomb via a trade. I believe one of two scenarios played out during the draft.
Scenario A: The Eagles decided they weren't happy with their offseason moves so far and second-guessed themselves. Maybe Andy Reid watched some footage of Feeley as a Dolphin and thought to himself, "holy crap, this guy sucks."
Scenario B: Kolb is insurance because McNabb hasn't been able to stay healthy. McNabb has suffered season ending injuries the last two seasons, and the Eagles needed a QB under 30 who's ready to take the reins if McNabb isn't able to stay healthy over the next few years.
The Abiamiri pick isn't that surprising considering the Eagles like to have plenty of depth on the D-Line. 4 years ago the Eagles traded up to 15th in the draft to take DE Jerome McDougle. Although McDougle has been injured frequently, he hasn't exactly been impressive in his brief stints on the field.
To address your comments on Donte Stallworth, I wouldn't say he didn't work out as hoped. Given he's usually injured at least 4 games every season, the Eagles didn't think he deserved a multi-year contract for $7 million a year. Instead they signed a "possession receiver" which basically means a WR who is not as fast as Stallworth. Of course I am talking about former St. Louis Ram Kevin Curtis who the Eagles just signed for 6 years and $32 million.
