Philadelphia Eagles
Two weeks into the season: A great time to panic or celebrate your team's success, to start putting players on the trading block in your fantasy league (Maurice Jones-Drew, anyone...?), and perhaps most crucially to begin reassessing those preseason predictions. To wit, the fate of the 2007 Philadelphia Eagles. Tapped by many to win the NFC East,...

Solution: hand the ball off to Brian Westbrook. Throw to Brian Westbrook. Hand the ball off to Brian Westbrook. Throw to Brian Westbrook. Repeat.

Oh were to start with the Philly Eagles and their current problems. I'm not going to get into all of the topics this article discusses, but i'm going to get into McNabb and his words in a little bit. Does this make me one of the people who are being critical of this poor millionaire and his problems he has created for himself. I guess so!

First of all has there been other problems with the Eagles than McNabb? DUH! We all know they don't have the best wide outs in the league or the best line or the so on and so on. Has there been some bad play calling? I'm sure there has and everyone and their mom thinks they know what plays to run from their couch while screaming at the television. But that isn't what i'm going to get into with this article. I'm going to talk about McNabb's recent pulling of the RACE CARD and how sick i am of hearing it.

The Race Card: Oh how i love this card and how it gets used over the years. You've all seen it in pretty much every sport and it doesn't always pertain to the african-american race. It spans all races and in all different forms. So don't think i'm just going off this one occasion of using it. But it will be the one i'm going to talk about here of course. McNabb is a quarterback in the NFL! One of the hardest JOBS in AMERICA!!! WIthout a doubt a job that gets picked apart in all aspects of life. From being watching on tape a billion times and then having to be the team leader and spokesman for your team on many topics ranging from the glory and good times to the failures of losing. So spare me please on the it only happens to black quarterbacks or they get it MORE! You're going to tell me that Peyton wasn't torn apart every year he didn't win the BIG GAME year after year. Or ELI and Chad P haven't been tossed to the dogs on more than one occasion in NY? I mean you look at every year a qb has struggled and you will read the headlines telling everyone how horrible they have been or what they need to do to fix it. Big Ben in Pitt last year or Brees already this year. I'm pretty sure race has nothing to do with any qb getting it handed to him in the media and by fans. I'm just so sick to my stomach having to hear lines like "you guys don't want us playing this position" or whatever the exact quote was. WHO are YOU GUYS?????? WHO?? I know i could care less what color you are and if your doing well, CONGRATS. AND if not, then you are going to hear it. I feel when the race card is used it is actually the person who uses it is the Racist!!! I don't need McNabb or anyone else telling me I don't want them there because they are black, green or gold. Then you get me to the interview he had after the comments were made. OH BOY.. He is going to sit there for some questions and say he is standing behind what he said. But yet he runs off the stage when he is being asked about it? What is that? That seems like the opposite of standing behind your words, doesn't it? If Farve (who i can't stand and is white like ME) said the same things and bailed off the stage after using the RACE CARD i would want to puke just as much! I'm a teacher and work with kids of all races and would consider myself as open to other races and cultures and beliefs as anyone. That is why this drives me up a WALL.

So i will end this rampage "jackson" of a comment with this. Please people stop pulling the Race Card whenever you feel like it. It just make you look like the fool and BIGOT and it does nothing but draw more attention to you. Especially when things aren't going your way or things have been said. Don't group the rest of the people/media/fans/coaches whoever in the same group and be quick to drop the old RACE CARD out your mouth. Most people cheer their hearts our for people of any race and could care less what color you are. GROW UP and deal with fact that you have a HARD HARD job Donavann and people's jobs are to be critical of you and your fellow qb's in the WHOLE LEAGUE.

Well there you have it. It's just my opinion of course and i hope a couple people agree with me here. With all that being said, GO eagles and go McNabb. I still want him to get his title and he deserves it. Just please to all athletes in America, STOP USING IT... The sooner the better in my eyes! and no i didn't proof read this even though i'm a teacher.. so back off if there are some errors.. ha. ha

Then Brian Westbrook is out for the year.

Congratulations...brilliant solution.
