Deke Coopers is a very good player, and definitely an upgrade over Jimmy Williams. However, the departure of Jimmy Williams marks the disappearance of the Falcons 2006 draft class. Apart from Jerious Norwood, the only members of that draft on the roster are Quinn Ojinnaka (a busted tackle who now plays backup LG.) and Adam Jennings, who probably won't make it out of camp at WR. This seems to me like a young core of players that will be completely absent from the roster during a time WHEN THE TEAM IS REBUILDING. That seems huge to me. Again, Deke Cooper is great, but at thirty, he's not a part of the long-term rebuilding effort. It seems to me a shame that we have yet more to rebuild because of a disastrous draft on top of everything else.
