The Falcons signed fifth-round linebacker Kroy Biermann to a four-year deal Thursday, the team announced. Biermann had 220 career tackles and 32 sacks in 52 games at the University of Montana. Once they sign Lofton and James it will add much needed depth to there depleted and less than good linebacking corp.

Both Michael Boley and Keith Brooking had over 100 total tackles last season. If anything Lofton, James, and Biermann are going to be competeting for a backup role.

Yeah it's not about them getting starting role's it's about the Falcons having better back ups than they did. Brookings and Boley can't play every down and they will probably get hurt sooner or later.
