Yes picking a high priced player can definitely prevent you from filling your roster spots right which can hurt you in the long run.

Keeper leagues should be the standard in fantasy sports. They force you to make more strategic picks.

My friends did a keeper league I think mostly everyone in it was happy with being able to keep one player.
