New York Giants
Greatest upset in Super Bowl history? Just where does the New York Giants' dramatic victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII rank? After all, the Giants were a 14-point underdog, and they were taking on the first team to reach the Super Bowl with a perfect 18-0 record. In pure football terms, this was not the biggest upset in...

I think you are wrong. There are several reason why. One the Giant were really never even supposed to make it to the playoffs, they did. Yes, they got hot at the end, but that is after they had been beaten by the cowboys twice, and the packers earlier in the season. They got hot after they lost key players on defense and offense. The Patriots had all there starters back for the superbowl.

The Patriots were a machine...not beating teams, but burying them all year. Clearly the best team ever assembled.

The Giants were the fifth seeded wild card team, that won on the road more than any other team in history. They did it with more rookies that had never performed in league game no less playoffs and superbowls.

They did it with a head coach that early in the season was about to be fired, and made an adjustment to his players and coaching style that rallied his troops behind him. And had never coached as a head coach in a superbowl.

They did it with young Quarterback that was most likely scared as you know what. Eli played better than just about any QB in playoff history. He rose to the occasion on 4 different occasions in away games, in adverse conditions.

I don't remember Peyton winning that many games on the road, with a team missing starters, and winning the Big game. I may be wrong. But I don't think so.

And had three running that make it look like Tiki might have not made the starting lineup.

I think your article smacks of poor looser patriots attitude. The fact is, the Giant prepared better, and wanted the game more. They did not walk in to a win due to a lack luster performance by the patriots.

THEY FLAT OUT BEAT THEM.

I suppose there is also a pretty
good chance the Patriot filmed the giant's and tried to cheat in this one as well. Hey, fate, The best team won and what goes around, comes around.

Your article may have valid points about other teams wining super bowls against bigger odds, but I dont think so, back in 69, even the Jets had better chance. This was a frickin miracle.

Just my thoughts,

The G-Men win a super bowl and now we get an article from one of the six Jets fans on earth. Nobody cares what happened during that one good year the Jets had. The only people who go to Jets games are drunks, criminals and those too cheap to put down money for Giants tickets.
