Kudos to the Saints for sticking to their guns and making THEIR deal. I expect that next year's number 2 from New Orleans to be of lesser value than this year's number 2. Did the Giants overplay their hand by turning down the pre-draft deal?

This deal was suppose to be done along time ago. During the draft etc so i wasnt surprised to see it finally go down. I guess its best for both shockey and the giants. He wanted out and gets a fresh start with Payton so even though i feel it hurts the giants they still have kevin boss so theres hope.

My problem with NY's actions is that they turned down this deal when they could have had the number 8 pick in the second round. Now, New Orleans gets Shockey for a full season and the Giants get a pick next year that almost assuredly will be less valuable than number 8. Seems as if what NY viewed as an acceptable deal in July is not as good as the deal they turned down in April. What changed?
