I would be more worried about the giant-killer than the weather. If LSU wants a shot at a National Title, good ESPN exposure won't hurt.

I think you overestimate the effect of heat on LSU fans; (is the coach complaining?) After serious tailgating they usually aren't feeling much pain of any kind. Besides who are these whiners anyway? You could identify one fan who is so upset about the heat, or at the least give us a profile. What exactly does Billy Bobbeaux from Breaux Bridge say about the heat?

As to the time, last year there were six day games and six night games, all broadcast either by ESPN or CBS. In each game LSU was either No. 1 or a contender.

Probably the most important factor is the money received by LSU from ESPN (or CBS). Exactly how much does the team get? And how much does ESPN expect to make on the broadcast? As they used to say in politics, follow the money.
