Michigan recruiting update: The theory is that if you win games, the recruits will come. If you lose games, they will not. Well, in college football, the rich may get richer. But the poor get just as rich sometimes. Think of it as football’s version of communism. Take Notre Dame. In 2008, the Irish raked in a top five recruiting class by...

I give you credit for faithfully being a fan of the Wolverines. However, 'you don't always get what you pay for' and the Michigan coach is a perfect example. Good comment. Michigan State is reaping the benefits of Rich's lack of attention paid to recruits in-state. That's something that must be considered, though recruiting players just so the opponent doesn't snag them is something that would be bush league if you otherwise wouldn't target them.

He also faces the brunt of all the anger if "his way" doesn't work out. Great coaches dare to be different. He's not pandering to the traditional recruiting rules. He's coaching his team his way, with his philosophies, with his players. If it ends up working, he'll be an icon. If it doesn't, he'll be the most vilified figure in the history of Michigan football. Woody Hayes included.

Pm....yes, I am.
