| Recently I watched highlights of Nebraska, Penn St. from 1981. That years non-conference schedule included Iowa, Florida State, Penn. St. and Auburn. Can you imagine playing that schedule today? Both players and fans would be excited about that! Granted, consideration must be given to the current condition of our team and it's distance from the elite programs of the day but still players and fans love to play the best! It's a bit frustrating to tolerate KU v. Louisana Tech, KU v. S.Florida even KU v. Sam Houston St. while waiting for Nebraska to generate enough interest to televise a game. Even if Virginia Tech were playing well it'd be the only non-conference game mildly interesting to anyone not associated with the particulars. It's sad when in this day with so many television outlets Nebraska's only way onto the TV is via $30 pay-per-view. | ||
