| While McKeon is an excellent linebacker, the Huskers Steve Octavien will earn the most praise from the media throughout the season. Octavien will use his speed to get interceptions, sack the quarterback, and score touchdowns for a defense that could be one of the top in the nation. With this unbelievable linebacking core and Jay Moore and Adam Carriker working the end positions, this team will once again lead the nation in sacks. GO BIG RED! | ||

| I agree with you that I think Octavien will be great, but he still is relatively untested in DI. IMO he will be top of the conference, if not the nation. But I`m not going to short McKeon on any of his hype because he had one heck of a year in '05 and is the leader(with Carriker) of this Defense. When its all said and done I think we`ll have 3-4 LBs in the first and second team Big XII! | ||

| There is not an NU LB that could start for the Sooners in "06". Look at the points scored against in "05". Also look at the number of large gain running plays given up. Octavien has not played enough to prove is value at this point, he always has not remained healthy during any season in the last three years. The high expectations for this years defense may prove to be unwarranted. | ||
