Hey, the USFL did not fail in the antitrust lawsuit! They won! And a more triumphantly earned $3 there never was.

If you notice one thing though, John, it's this: Of all the "pretenders" (not counting the Arena League, which is an entirely different game altogether), the only one that had more than a modicum of success is the AFL.

The difference between the AFL and all the rest: They played in the fall/winter, just like the NFL. This is the model the UFL is going for.

Perhaps maybe they'll find that it's not so much that America loves the NFL...they just don't love football in spring and summer, when baseball is going on and the NBA/NHL are in their stretch runs?
