NFL Football News
So Brett Favre is/is not going to play this season for the Minnesota Vikings. He cannot let go. The Packers front office offered Brett 20 million dollars when he first left Green Bay to not come back into the league. He asked them to leave. When an NFL player has been on the field since he was 8 years old, it's no wonder they often can't walk...

Good article, Cowgirl.

I think when you've spent your whole life (some start as early as 4 years old) only doing one thing, it's hard to accept the fact that it's over. It's as if someone took your reason for living away from you and said "Walk it off, find something else to do..."

Too bad the Colleges don't push the "Plan B". It might help save a lot of NFL families, post retirement.

Nicely done cowgirl. Throw Thurman going to the hated Dolphins onto that list of guys hanging on when enough is enough. They love the game so much and refuse to think that it's over when most everyone else already knows it.

Unfortunately these kids coming into the NFL feel that they are the show when they've accomplished NOTHING. There needs to be some kind of reform that establishes an NBA type salary level for incoming rookies. No rookie should EVER be getting paid more than an already accomplished player in the league. Holdouts are ugly and the league needs to find a way to eliminate them with these drafted college kids.

Cowgirl---very nicely put.... I can only imagine how the Packer fans feel---it would be like Kelly going to play for the Phins, Jets or Pats. As much as I enjoyed watching Farve play his waffling act has grown so old that I could care less!!

The Boss's song Glory days sums up what you related. I graduated in 73 and when I get together with my buddies from that era we still hash over our old exploits in sports, women, fights etc etc------I must admit it never gets old and the laughs are worth going back to Buffalo a couple of times a year...
