San Francisco 49ers
On the San Francisco 49er message boards, the debate has already begun. It involves a couple of guys named Lewis. Last season, former special teams warrior Keith Lewis stepped into the starting lineup at free safety and finished with 72 tackles, two interceptions and a sack. He also carried a special teams attitude into the defensive backfield....

God where do I begin? Ive been waiting for this article. A player like Keith Lewis is a fans dream. Hard working blue collar guy works his way to special teams captain, and finds himself being asked to step in and try to salvage the niners pathetic secondary. What did he do? Exactly what he does best: hit. They call him killer, and after only a couple games he had receivers shakin in their cleats. The guy is like a centerfielder combined with a linebacker. He knows where to be to take the ball, or someones head off. He inspires others around him and is a force to be reckoned with. I think Mark roman is no better than average, and his stats from last year show that the safeties had to compensate for poor d line and linebacker play. Keith needs to fit into our defense somewhere. He is going to be a great player in this league. At Monster park on sundays there is already a group of guys wearing #28 and chanting his name. He's a stud and deserves a spot on our eleven. Nate, Walt, and Shawntae should keep the wr's occupied.

Keith! Keith! Keith!

Keith will get plenty of action either way. Nolan likes to rotate players to keep them fresh; he will have the luxury to do so with this crop of safeties. The bigger question is how many safeties will make the active roster. If they go with four, will Bing or Goldson be left without a seat?
