San Francisco 49ers
The owners of the San Francisco 49ers are asking the city of Santa Clara to pony up $222 million to build a new stadium on what is now parking lot space leased to Cedar Fairs' Great America. By all accounts, this is a great area for a stadium and the bulk of the 49ers' fan base is nearby. Still, this will be a long road for proponents of the...

At this point it is hard to be optimistic about anything concerning the 49ers. Maybe they should seriouly consider palying soemwhere else for a year
and revamping Candlestick. If they could pump 2 or 3 hundred million into Candlestick wouldn't be be alot better. Lots of memories in that place. They screw around to much and they are going to end up in Frickin LA.

as a niners fan id never vote for a new stadium until they improve their play on the field. On the otherhand taxpayers shouldn't have to eat the cost it should be out of the yorks and political workers at 85.00 per ticket min. plus all of the tv sponsers and sponsers in the stadium and the super bowl rotation how long would it take to make the money back? not long at all even less if they became competitive and maybe hosted a playoff game, look it soldier field they charged their season ticket holders a seat tax for the right to have them i would have torn up that letter and sent it back to them the bears stunk then, but i guess fans dont know how to properly starve a team if the yorks sold wed be alot better off infact most consider them the worst owners in the NFL heck any sport and now they want to move out of san fran? like the other commenter wrote they'll end up in LA if the yorks got offered more they would probably move anywhere that just crushes sports history .

Californians in general dislike public financing of sports stadiums. I doubt the Yorks have anyone on their project team that could pull off something similar to the STAPLEs financial deal in LA. I agree that the measure will not pass either, but if I was a SC resident, I would vote "yes" on the stadium.
