Favre shrugged

Green Bay Packers
At the post-game press conference, Brett Favre's shoulders sagged in the typical natty white T-shirt, seemingly to literally carry the metaphorical weight of this entire Green Bay Packers team that the QB bears. "I was telling Ingle [Martin, who else is named Ingle?] before I came in here. It doesn't get any easier." Sure, we all know that Favre...

Well, constantly coming to the defense of Brett Favre is no longer working for me personally. The bottom line is putting the ball in his hands has resulted in 3 key red zone turnovers with the game on the line (Saints, Rams, and now Bills). I don't see concern on Favre's part in protecting the football in key situations. After the first down on the one yard line last week, I said to myself, "please take the ball out of Favres hands". In other words, PLEASE run the football. In the past you wanted the ball in Favres hands, no longer is that the case for me personally. I believe he no longer represents the guy you want to have the ball in key game situations, when running the football is an option. Rather he now represents snapshots of every ridiculous weird turn over he's been associated with throughout his career, as a "probability" in game changing situations. The bottom line is that in the three games mentioned here, they were winnable football games, which had key situations turned into heartbreak. This team could just as easily been 6 & 2, had they protected the football in the red zone. Passing last week in that situation was horrible and poorly coached as well. I felt that turnover coming before they ever snapped the football.

OK we get it, you hate Favre, you hate the Packers as an orgaization, you want Favre to quit now and rot in hell forever, we get it. What a clueless hack you are, now just move on. I think its just better if I don't bother reading anything you write ever again. I know in advance you are just going to be spewing your hatred of anything that has to do with Favre or the Packers so it will be much easier on my blood presure. You add nothing to my understanding of football any way so its not like I'll be missing anything.

Brett's not really that old. He has been making stupid turnovers for a long time, they are just maginified because this team isn't and hasn't been as strong as it once was. Age doesn't have that much to do with it. Lack of protection, average receiving corps, weak defense, these things add up to Favre trying to do too much and the result is that his efforts are blowing up in his face. It seems stupid turnovers are a theme in the NFL this year. Didn't Tom Brady just have four picks on Sunday night? Jump all over him.
