Green Bay Packers
Whether or not the football gods are crazy, Scott Wells' contract extension indicates that they definitely have a strange sense of timing. Just two days after the center made "SportsCenter," post-game and evening-news "highlight" clips by bouncing a snap off Brett Favre's face mask on the count of two, the Pack announced a five-year, $15 million...

I think it was appropriate for the Packers to pay Wells less than 48 hours after he took the blame for the two fumbled snaps. He's demonstrated that he's a team player that clearly understands the team's priorities. And as the coaches said afterwards, "He's one of our most consistent and best players".

You can draw your own conclusions.

Anyone who knows anything about the Packers knows how good of a job Wells has done this year with rookies on both sides. He is the new "Rock" in the center. Also, anyone who knows anything about the NFL in general knows you can't win in the NFL without a good offensive line. Like the Packers when Marco and Wahle were here, it takes years to be great, not signing Wells would have been a huge mistake.

What color is the sun your world?

That was one of weakest articles I've ever read! I don't exactly bleed Green and Gold all over (more like Blue and Orange these day's) but what a stupid article! That writer knows as much about Scott Wells as he does about doing his homework. He watched a highlight reel from the Bills game and he knows who Scott Wells is! Tell you what, he'll know who Scott Wells is in a few years, when this line is leading the NFL in rushing. Scott Wells is one of three main building blocks in a very young talented line. This line will dominate, as its already starting to do, for years to come. Good signing!
