Championship game kribbles, part IV: Giants’ offense vs. Packers’ defense

Green Bay Packers
At first, the New York Giants-Green Bay Packers matchup didn't feel all that compelling; after all, wasn't everyone not subsumed by the East Coast bias hoping for Dallas here? Yet, as anticipation builds in the week lead-up to the game (Who says overhype is bad?), this contest seems like potentially more and more fun. Heck, the possible hilarity...

The packers stats on defense are all padded up by the weakest schedule in the NFL against some of the worst offenses. The games to look at are the Bears games. They self-destructed twice against the Bears this season. What did the Bears do? They played them tough on both sides of the ball and the Packers folded. The Packers are weak at every position except QB. Pressure the QB and its over. Also, take a close look at the week 2 game. It was even until the fourth quarter. Eli had no problem with the Packers defense even with a seperated shoulder. Big Blue will roll into the middle of nowhere and expose the Packers for what they are just like they exposed the cryboys last week.

Better take another look at the packers D They bend but don't break. A lot of teams have tried to throw on them and didn't have a very good day.An no one run's on the pack for long. Padded stats I don't think so.After this weekend the world will know how good the packers really are.

I have to disagree with Carl on a few things. I agree with him that the way they played the bears was pitiful. I literally turned off both games during the second half, because there was no point on continuing to watch the game. What I disagree with is that if you pressure the QB it's over. Favre has been pressured with for a while these past two games and look what is happening. Favre is still throwing 10-15 yard passes. Also take a look at the pass he through to Lee. Favre is probably the best quarterback when it comes to being under pressure.

Eli had no problem with their defense before but the packers have changed greatly in the past few weeks. Their defense is about 2nd in the league. Defense could use some work, but they are still not terrible. Giants will have a problem with this team, and you can count on the Giants packing their bags back to New York, as the packers have a nice vacation in Arizona!
