Keary Colbert was not the problem in the passing game. The problem was that he wasn't being thrown the ball. It's not as though he dropped passes or that he ran poor routes -- which was actually considered his strength at the time he was drafted. Jake Delhomme just got complacent with Steve Smith making plays and virtually ignored the other receivers. It was this ignorance that negatively impacted Carolina's drive to the Super Bowl. Had they attempted to throw to other WRs aside from Smith, they would have fared much better.

It isn't Jake who desides who gets the ball. Dan Henning, the offensive coordinator, really desides who get the ball. The play Dan calls is set up for Smith to make a play. Keary had a hard time getting open last season, as I watched every game, he was never open.
