Carolina Panthers
In a column last Tuesday ranking the NFL's current head coaches, the Carolina Panthers' John Fox was placed 10th on the list. Of all the tough decisions yours truly had to make in compiling such a piece, placing Fox so low has been the one move that's eaten at me since it happened. Good decision Connor. Fox definitely belongs in the top 5 - what he's done with the Panthers ball club (especially defensively) is nothing short of incredible. Nice job - although the jury's still out on Dungy and Gruden being in the top 10...

I love Fox, Love the guy. But i have to say that you might have moved him a bit too high. Reid & Dungy are definately below Fox. But Gruden, Holmgren and Pacells all have rings. Fox doesn't. But I still think Fox is better than Gruden and Holmgren. Parcells, no. Gruden played his own team in the Superbowl. You can only change so much in one year, which gave Gruden a huge advantage. Holmgren hasnt won without Farve until recently, but he has had the leagues leading rusher. Holmgren just seems to be blessed with weak divisions. I dont think he molded Frave, Alexander and Hasselbeck like some believe. I dont think any coach molded any star. Its the fathers, highschool and college coaches who do that. NFL coaches dont mold players.
But to sum it up. Fox is better than Gruden and Holmgren, but not Parcells, who definately is a Hall of Fame Coach.
