I just remember growing up as a Bills fan how the team absolutely could not cover Ben Coates. He constantly abused Henry Jones, who was an All-Pro. He was also given the least creative nickname of all-time by Chris Berman: Ben "Winter Coates. What a stich that Berman is. As for Ben in Canton one day, I'm not so sure. Yes I know he had five consecutive Pro Bowl seasons and yes he had a 96 catch season which is unheared of for a TE, but for some reason I can't picture Ben Coates as a Hall of Famer. Certainly I think we'll see Shannon Sharpe and Tony Gonzalez make it into the Hall. I just don't know if Coates will ever crack through. There were so many great players from the 1990's that will be inducted before Coates name ever comes up.
