Oakland Raiders
There’s something about making the same mistake twice that touches a nerve with people. At this point, followers of the Oakland Raiders have to be ripping their hair out when it comes to the chronic slip-ups made by defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. The late-game “prevent” philosophy has seemingly cost Oakland double-digit contests since the...

AC, can we stick with the facts here?
Gerrard Warren was injured in the 2nd half. Much to our dismay, it changed our defense quite considerably.
On top of that, we had the correct call on defense when the Bills began their inspired 96 yard drive. If Thomas Howard had made the tackle on Lynch, we would've received great field position. As it turned out Lynch is a baller. He made something out of nothing.
The rest of the drive, you can blame on Ryan. Though the refs were making a mess of things. And I still don't know why it took Kiffin so long to throw the challenge flag. Unless you believe in the "magic bullet" theory, that ball changed trajectory enough to where the entire stadium saw it.
...not that it mattered. You can blame that on Ryan too.

With the Chiefs, how can you defend against the amazing catch by Dwayne Bowe? Sometimes the ball rolls in favor of the opposition.
And why aren't you blaming Michael Bush's fumble for putting the team in jeopardy?

Sooner or later, we're going to have to realize just how much the defense and special teams have been carrying the offense. And this is coming from an offense guy.

Once again, was it Ryan's fault that Kiffin opted to kick the extra point? Was it Ryan's fault that Kiffin refused to call timeouts?
We played against a very good offense and our defense stuffed them for 3.5 quarters. We held a good RB to under 100yds rushing. And that was without any help from our own inept offense.

Ryan shares some blame, but let's not shift ALL blame to him. Heaven forbid someone takes responsibility for the lousy offense. Word has it, St. Kiffin is blaming the ball boy for JaMarcus's fumble.
