Frenzied Raiders need Fargas more than ever

Oakland Raiders
OK, so Tom Cable is the new head coach of the Oakland Raiders. It’s a topic that’s been (justifiably) talked about ad nauseum over the past few days. Cable, like any one of the Raiders’ last five head coaches, is an interim coach. (Except he actually has the label “interim” before his title; it’s not implied this time). Yet, when the Raiders ...

It will be a relief to see Fargas back in the lineup, though I hope he isn't rushed back too soon. That groin injury looked extremely serious. Jeff George was out for what, a month? And he wasn't the same when he came back to play.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to see how The Cable Guy attacks the field in the 4th quarter.

Totally agree RaiderSensation:-)

More than anything, we need to make sure that Fargas and McFadden are healthy enough to play. I don't want to see either of them lost for the year by rushing them back too soon. Michael Bush has done a fine job stepping up, as has Justin Griffith leading the way as well as having 7 catches for 75 yards.

More than the 4th quarter RaiderSensation, I think we need to be be aggressive from the outset... A lot of the drives have stalled out early in the game inside the redzone (penalties, dropped balls, turnovers, and yes even bad play calls), and although SeaBass has been Amazing, we need to put some 7's on the board.

New Orleans is damn tough though... I actually have Brees in my Fantasy League and the guy is having a monster year, despite missing his top tow guys in Colston and Shockey. Nnamdi, D-Hall, Routt, Huff and Wilson better be ready, because they will come after us through the air. They are by far the number 1 passing team in the league right now and we are shockingly, very low at defending the pass at 20th. This needs to change if we want to win after the Bye.

Anyway, I'm done with my Al Davis rants (for now), got my frustration out beating up some poor Bronco fan up on the hardwood yesterday (just kidding but I did whoop him in B-Ball)... At this point in time I just want to focus on the Players and Coaches on the field, thinking about Davis just makes me lose more hair:-) This doesn't mean I won't harp on Ryan if he blows another 4th quarter lead, but the slate is clean for now.

Let's hope Cable can do what Art Shell did after Shannahan was fired (finished 7-5)... Or better yet, finish the season on a 8-4 or 9-3 run and possibly make the playoffs. I think one thing has been shown, KC is nothing. San Diego is beatable, and Denver has an A$$-Whooping in store when we go to Denver later in the year.

One Message to Cable: Just Win Baby!!! And Paul and I will do a special 8-Clap dedicated to you.

It will be good to have Justin back to normal. His return will make passing easier for Jamarcus. Sounds like McFadden won't be quite back to normal against NO. You know, ESPN showed an episode of "NFL's Greatest GAmes" tonight. It was the 1974 Oakland-MIami playoff "Sea of Hands" game. The Dolphins had a dynamic trio of running backs then: FB Larry Czonka, HBs Benny Malone and Jim Kiick. If they all get back to full strength Justin Fargas, Darren McFadden, and MIchael Bush could become a new Silver & Black dynamic trio! As AC points out, since the KC game, our rushing game has suffered. With Fargas being out, and McFAdden hampered made it easier for the Buffalo, and SD defenses. The Saints won't have it that easy. This will be a fun game to watch. The Raiders will need to fire all guns to win this shootout! Have Faith, Raider Nation!
