The source has spoken again, and he/she/it in the wee hours of Wednesday night has apparently informed that CNN of the sports world, ESPN.com, that Tom Cable will in fact be the head coach of the 2009 Oakland Raiders. Perhaps fearing his time in the media spotlight is drawing to a close or perhaps merely acting out of reflex, Raiders senior...

If Cable doesn't like them then he can fire the guys that Al Davis brings in.

Hackett 90-54 all time as Offensive Coordinator, yea the guys got skills. On the other hand, if Joe Montana wanted to coach, I'm thinking he would be invited to about 32 training camps.

Coaching career

College
Tom Cable was the head coach at the University of Idaho, his alma mater from 2000–2003. At Idaho, Cable compiled a record of 11–35 (.239) in four straight losing seasons. Idaho did not renew Cable's contract at the conclusion of the 2003 season, and he was quickly replaced by Nick Holt. Five of Cable's losses at Idaho were to lower Division I-AA schools, while one of his wins was against a I-AA school.


NFL
Cable was the offensive line coach in 2006 for the NFL's Atlanta Falcons under head coach Jim Mora, who was dismissed at the end of the season. cable was the Oakland Raiders Offensive line coach in 2007. After Lane Kiffin was fired by the Raiders Cable was named interm Head Coach. After a 1-3 start by Kiffin, Cable lead the raiders to a 4-8 record as head coach. the raiders final record in 2008 was 5-11. on January,28,2009 ESPN reported that the Raiders hired Cable as the new head coach but the Raiders denied making a decison yet.
