Crabtree about Raiders: “No comment.” Uh-oh.

Oakland Raiders
Sometimes, silence can be more insulting than words. In a forgettable Thursday live chat on NFL.com, former Texas Tech wideout and top draft prospect Michael Crabtree dropped a torturous, semi-smug hint as to how he felt about the possibility of the Oakland Raiders grabbing him with the seventh pick of the draft on Saturday. “No comment.” At ...

Yes, AC, I've seen the reports of Crabtree's Browns interview. I do think that the good people, of the Raider Nation, can draw conclusions from this interview. Mr. Crabtree (2-time Biletnikoff Award winner) has no good reason avoid commenting on joining Mr. Biletnikoff's former team. Unless, he doesn't want to play for Oakland, and he doesn't want to lie to us. If the Raiders were one of the teams, that he wanted to come to, he would have had no reason to keep neutral about it.
So, even though it's disappointing to us, that he doesn't want to be here, he did not deceive us! He did not tell us what we wanted to hear. He did nothing to encourage us, or give us false hope. I have to respect that. I would do just what Crabtree did.
I know that I would NOT want to be drafted by the Chiefs. I know I'd have to hide my distaste for them & pray that they don't pick me. My public comments would be as neutral as I could make them. So, if we picked him anyway, his lack of enthusiasm shouldn't take us by surprise. I'm sure he'd deal with it, as most people would, who are disappointed in the outcome of something. Suck it up, and do his job.
Yet, he might pull a "Eli Manning", and demand that we trade him away. However, he may have done us a favor. By revealing, indirectly, that he doesn't want to play for us, he may reduce our desire to get him. Why bring in someone who doesn't want to join us? There are plenty of other good players to pick.
That's just fine. I think Al & Tom care about that a lot. They want to get players who want to join the Raiders. If we use our 1st pick on a WR, I prefer Maclin now! We need players who want to get with the program.
Forget Crabtree! There are plenty of good WRs, we can pick. I know Al & Tom will go after one. Ramses Barden, in the 3rd? Sounds good to me. Britt, Robiskie, or Harvin, in the 2nd? Oh, Yeah.

Let's be honest. Does he want to be drafted by the Raiders? Probably not. And it's also probably not for all the reasons the Talking Heads are thinking and saying. Seriously, he's Cocky!!! What do Cocky guys think? They think they are the best and should be paid like the best. He knows damn well that if the Raiders draft him at #7, that means he isn't viewed as the best by 6 other teams and that he's not going to be paid like the best player in the draft, but paid what a #7 pick the in Draft should get. For every slot he drops, he's LOSING MONEY!!! Money talks to these guys and the thought of losing millions by dropping to 7 is killing him. I really don't think it's about the Oakland Raiders in itself, but rather an EGO thing and the thought of losing all that money.

Anyway, while I think Crabtree is great, I also think we could get a quality guy with our 2nd round pick and use the 1st rounder on B.J. Raji or one of the Cadillac Offensive Tackles.

Also, I'll repeat what I said in the last thread. Hallelujah!!! Tony Gonzalez is officially out of the AFC West. He's been a thorn in our side for 10+ years. Glad to see him gone and I'm not really going out on a limb here: but that pretty much solidifies 2 wins this season:-)

He says he wants to be the best WR in the NFL, so he better shut up, works hard every day in practice and enjoy being a 21 years old millionaire.

You can't be a rookie and come to the league as if you are alredy a superstar, if he doesn't want to play for any team that picks him he is just STUPID, so can pick another player.

Who does he think he is?, he hasn't even done anything during the last 4 months.
