Oakland Raiders
In what Raider fans hope is not a sign of things to come, wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey’s initial time in Oakland has been derailed by a hamstring injury. Heyward-Bey has missed the majority of minicamp and organized team activities thus far, but the Raiders’ newest first-round draft pick is expected to be back in action this week. While the ...

What about the eye poppers? What about the photos on the net where he is leaping 12 feet in the air? That's what's just a hoot, he is practicing at 95 percent, which would still make Crabtree look like he's standing still, and much slower single sport Crabtree, hasn't stepped on the field. I just wish this season would start and the Raiders began blowing away defenses, so all the expert sports writers can began talking out of the other side of there mouths.

Michael Crabtree was one of the top basketball recruits in the state of Texas as a high school senior and actually went to Tech on a combination football/basketball scholarship as he was recruited by both Mike Leach and Bobby Knight. That doesn't sound like a single sport guy to me. I'm guessing that if Bobby Knight thinks you can play basketball, then you're probably pretty good. He dumped basketball during his red-shirt year to concentrate on football since he was converting from QB to WR. I do have to question your claim that DHB has caught footballs that were "conservatively" 12 feet above the ground. For a guy 6'2" that would require a vertical of about 54". I'm not saying it can't happen, but I'd have to see it to believe it. No one questions the triangle numbers for DHB. The questions he has to answer regard his route-running, his hands, and his willingness to go over the middle. If he can silence his critics, DHB has a chance to be spectacular. If he can't, he has a chance to be Troy Williamson or Ashley Lelie.
